1st Southeast Europe Smart Society Conference

Europe is beginning to recognize the unique opportunity in the development of smart communities, which indirectly leads to greater economic and technological potential and a long-term increase in the quality of life.


To harness the potential of this technology, we are organizing the first international conference focused on smart societies in the region of South East Europe, which will be held on 20 December 2019, InterContinental hotel Ljubljana (-2nd Floor).

The central theme of the event will be an overview of the European guidelines for systematic implementation of the smart city concept which was positioned as a priority of the European Commission during its mandate.

The conference is targeted at leaders in Slovenian and regional local communities, municipal and regional development agencies and all partners that have a stake in the development of smart cities and communities.

The regional event will cover the broadest scope and focus on the following goals in addition to in-depth content:

  • Presentation of the European Commission's Digital Europe program
  • Overview of the financial mechanisms available for developing smart cities and communities
  • Presentation of the European and Slovenian declarations and activities for accelerating development
  • Presentation of the plans of the Republic of Slovenia for developing smart cities and communities

1st Southeast Europe Smart Society Conference is organized by Association of Informatics and Telecommunications at Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS) and supported by OASC, PMiS Strategic Research and Innovation Partnership (SRIP) and ICT innovation network.
